“Was She Fighting?”: Family Of Gaza’s 5-Year-Old Killed In Israel Strike

A five -year -old girl was among the 10 people who were tragically killed in Gaza when the region witnessed the escalation of the worst violence in a year on Saturday. Israel pounded Gaza with air strikes responded to by the Islamic Jihad Palestinian jihad with rocket shots.
When his family is preparing for a funeral, Alaa Kaddum’s small body, wrapped in a white cloth, held by his family members. The pink bow on his hair and the wound on his forehead was seen in the video shared by the Middle East Eye News Organization.

Speaking to Middle East Eye, Grandfather Alaa Riad asked what crime he had committed to justify his death.

“He dreamed of going to the nursery. He wanted a bag and clothes … this innocent girl. Is she responsible for the rocket or he fought? What did he do?” Riad asked, confused.

While the health authority in Gaza controlled by Hamas said that 10 people had been killed and 79 were injured in the bombing, the Israeli army estimated that its operation had killed 15 terrorists.

Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid said the Jewish state was forced to launch “Contra-Terror Pre-Emptive Operations on direct threats” caused by Islamic jihad groups, after the days of tensions along the Gaza border.

Islamic Jihad is a group that is in harmony with Hamas also acted independently. The terror group said that the initial bombing of Israel was “Declaration of War”, before releasing more than 100 rockets to Israel.

Israeli fire and attack fires continued overnight, risking the 11 -day conflict repetition in May 2021 which destroyed Gaza.

Both Israel and Islamic jihad confirmed the murder of a top leader with terror group Taysir al-Jabari on Friday.
“Israel is not interested in a broader conflict in Gaza, but also will not avoid one,” said Prime Minister Lapid in a speech broadcast by television nationally.
